Colourfro was founded by an African who migrated to the USA and wanted to find ways of showing the beauty and creativity of the motherland Africa. Starting in 2017, Colourfro aims to celebrate the love and remarkable progress occurring in Africa through fashion (and arts and events).
Most people ask how the name of Colourfro was conceived. It was simply the recognition of the colorful fabrics used in Africa, namely the kente cloth. From that came the first part of the name 'colour'. The latter part is from the iconic afro that black Americans wore during the civil rights movement era. A combination of color and afro brought about the name colourfro.
